Swan Point Stormwater and Sediment and Erosion Control Project

Swan Point is an unincorporated waterfront community in southern Charles County, Maryland situated along the Potomac River and Cuckold Creek. RAUCH inc. was retained to provide site design, sediment control, utility design, hydrology, and stormwater management planning services for the community.

Our stormwater design approach delivered environmental site design to the maximum extent practicable through micro-bioretention areas, submerged gravel wetlands, rain gardens, sheet flow to conservation areas, and rooftop/non-rooftop disconnects. We prepared grading and erosion control drawings, specifications and details, storm drainage details, specifications and calculations, and various construction and as-built drawings including design drawings of water and sanitary sewer connection and service plans to nearest available water and sewer mains.

Additionally, a preliminary storm drain layout was developed to ensure the site will drain and exceed the minimum drainage slope requirements to avoid flooding during a 100-year storm event.
