About

Background

RAUCH inc. is a comprehensive civil engineering and professional services firm with more than 40 years of experience. Our projects can be found throughout Maryland, across the county, and around the world. Our clients include nonprofits, local governments, and private sector businesses.
Robert D. Rauch, P.E. established our firm in 1984, after serving as Talbot County, Maryland’s Public Works Director. He was the youngest person to serve in that role in the State of Maryland. During his tenure, he established county roads and buildings standards, oversaw the construction of three wastewater treatment plants, and facilitated two master water and sewer plan updates. Prior to that he worked for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources focusing on watershed modeling of Maryland’s streams and tidal rivers and developed Maryland’s first set of statewide stormwater management standards.

In 2024, Casey Rauch, P.E. was promoted to President of the company. With more than twenty years of experience, Casey has a wealth of expertise in municipal public works, continuing our commitment to supporting local governments with their needs.

What started as a small civil engineering firm has now grown into RAUCH inc. – a full-service A/E firm with a team of 54 professionals providing engineering, survey, environmental services, architecture, GIS and droning, construction inspection, construction management, grant writing, and government relations all under one roof. Over the years, we have kept pace with important industry trends and changing standards. In fact, we pride ourselves in creating innovative development concepts and cost-effective design solutions for our clients in a timely manner. From initial planning and layout to permitting and project construction, our team has a diverse range of capabilities to handle the most complex projects, see a project through to completion, and provide our clients with top quality services. To date we have engineered over 2 million square feet of industrial and commercial property, designed over 10,000 residential lots, surveyed over 200,000 acres, and secured over $56M in grant and loan funding for our clients’ projects.

Our in-house review team carefully reviews output to validate accuracy and avoid potential change orders that can become costly.

Value Engineering

A value engineering approach to all projects ensures final design is consistent with both budget and project objectives. The re-use of existing infrastructure & cost-effective design alternatives are consistently sought. This format allows for the establishment of a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) in direct coordination with designers & contractors.

Quality Management

Our internal review process starts with a dedicated Project Manager (PM) who implements internal quality management processes. Using Microsoft Project scheduling software, project deadlines are charted and adjusted to keep projects on track.
