Denton Elementary School Stormwater Project

Caroline County, Maryland

Caroline County, in partnership with Envision the Choptank and Caroline County Public Schools, contracted RAUCH inc. for design and construction of stormwater management and water quality best management practices at Denton Elementary School.

The project includes six bioretention facilities along parking lot areas, two rows of permeable parking lot aisles, and design and construction of a “Living Classroom” with conservation plantings. It also includes installation of native plantings in the front of the school and tree plantings at the rear of the site.

The RAUCH team has worked with teachers and project partners throughout the design process to ensure the project is consistent with their vision and cohesive with the aesthetics of the school while still meeting environmental objectives.
