Town of Federalsburg Water Treatment Improvements

The Town of Federalsburg contracted RAUCH inc. for water infrastructure upgrades including replacement of aging infrastructure, installation of new water meters, and design and installation of a SCADA communications system.

We first provided the Town with a Preliminary Engineering Report funded by U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development. The report explored alternatives, established cost estimates, and prepared the Town for funding opportunities. Implementation of the project was then funded by the Maryland Department of the Environment’s (MDE) Drinking Water Revolving Loan Fund (DWSRF).

Our scope of work included engineering and design, project management, bidding, construction documentation, and construction management. Infrastructure upgrades included replacement of a 50-year-old failing transite asbestos cement pipe that was severely degraded. The old line was replaced with 2,700 linear feet of 6″ water line, 48 new 1″ house connections, one 2″ connection, and four hydrants and valves.
