Frederick Douglass Park
Talbot County, Maryland
RAUCH, inc. is partnering with Talbot County on improvements to Frederick Douglass Park, a 107-acre county-owned park and nature center on the Tuckahoe River. After receiving grant funding, Talbot County requested a range of conceptual options to address current conditions and provide practical recommendations on infrastructure, visitor experience, and resource protection. A synthesis workshop, meetings with Talbot County staff and Park Advisory Committee members, and public information sessions have been used to gather public input and inform design.
The county’s goals for this project are to make the park’s natural areas more visible and accessible to visitors and to repurpose existing buildings for public uses such as event space, visitor amenities, and interpretive exhibits.
RAUCH, inc.’s scope of work includes MEP, civil engineering, geotechnical services, surveying, cost estimation, coordination with county officials and park advisory committee members, and participation in public outreach activities.
